Preemptive over exposure to Christmas has been running them down all through November. But do you know what, this show is not part of this over-eager madness. 36 years after the original radio series of Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was broadcast, the original cast - Simon Jones as Arthur Dent, Susan Sheridan as Trillian, Mark Wing-Davey as Zaphod Beeblebrox and Geoffrey McGivern as Ford Prefect - are on tour. The live stage show, featuring an onstage band, a robotic Marvin the Paranoid Android and guest voice of the Book at each location, visited York in July 2012. YSTV went to the Grand Opera House York to chat to the cast about the demand for the tour, their experiences recording the show, and the influence they've had.
